secret codes

Sorry it took so long to respond, Harry.

I thought the same as you until we were inundated with spam (some not worthy of NHS'rs at all!) during a changeover in web-masters a few years ago. During the change, while security was down, we become fodder for the automatic dialers and scanners that just look for sites to invade. We were forced to choose between the password or being vulnerable to loading everyone's computer with viruses and other nasty stuff.

NHS Class of 1969 40th Reunion Friday, November 20

To NHS Class of 1969

Our 40th Anniversary Reunion is coming up on Friday, November 20.

PLACE: Stanhope Fire Hall, Main Street, Stanhope. Plenty of parking around back, the hall is on the lower level.

TIME: 6:30 - 10:00 PM on Friday the 20th

Spouses are welcome. There will be a buffet dinner with beer, wine, and soda. Casual dress. It appears that all costs will be covered by the class treasury (yes, it still exists).

I hope that you will be able to make it. I think that almost half the class will be there. Please let me know so that we have an accurate headcount for dinner. Also please spread the word to any classmate that you have contact with.

I'm looking forward to seeing you all.

Class of 1961 Reunion

I have had an inquiry regarding having a class reunion (class of 61) in the near future. However, our 50th year will be in 2011 - should we wait til 2011 or have a little 'pre fifty' get together now to plan a blow out for 2011. What are your thoughts, Class of 61??

Looking to get in touch with Dennis Thelkeld

I lost his email address and wanted to keep in touch. Does anyone know where he is?

Cindy Backer

Thanks for the info...after MANY years Cindy & I have reconnected and hope to see each other in December!

Congratulation to Ellen and Mike Lewis and brother Ken Glover

Ellen and Mike were married in the most joyful wedding I have ever been to. They are fantastic people!!
I really enjoyed Ken's half hour of guitar playing. It brought back happy memories of music class in 1966 with Ken Ellen
and Henry Pearce.
I did not know Ken was a famous musician with Crystal Ship before he began teaching public school music.
Check out MaggiePowell.Net for the band's history. My sister Stephanie got a kick out of all the bands Crystal Ship opened for like Twisted Sister and Joan Jet and the Blackhearts.
Hats off to all you public school teachers!!!
I did that job for 2 years before I had to retire and take care of Mom and Dad.

I am so glad Ellen and Mike found each other.

Just a Question

Hi, Kathy-

My name is Brad Rarick and I was in the class of 1969. I remember one of our football players (he may be a relative of yours), Anthony Ianello. We called him "Goo Goo." Was he your brother or something? Thanks.

How are all the old gang doing? Been a while, but, hopefully, I'll get back East to see everyone. With me being in the Air Force all those years, I kinda dropped off the radar. My e-mail address is bradtherad@comcast.net. Anybody who knew me-drop a line and let me know what roads you all took.
My son James is now in the Navy, so I guess the military runs in the family.
Hopefully, everybody is surviving the rough times we're going through right now, but, hey, America's bounced back from worse. As Charlie Daniels said in one of his songs, "The eagle's flying low and everybody says Americans fixin' to fall. This lady may have stumbled, but she ain't never fell, and if the Russians don't believe that, they can all go straight to hell. We're gonna put her back on her feet and then, God bless America again." Keep the faith, everybody. When our 50th hits in 2019, I plan to be there and things will be a lot better. Remember this-

"The pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportuntiy, the optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty."

Sir Winston Chuchill

God speed and I'll see you all in 11 years (or less).

Welcome

Hey, it's 2008 and even that's coming to an end. How many of you are going to work longer than you thought you were a month ago? Big time politics coming up. I was so ready to play golf until I died and now I find I'm still working the day job and still trying to build a small business on the side.

Stay In Touch,

Hey, it's our 8th year.

Addresses

How do I access the addresses that were on the old site???? Class of 1972 where are you???

Joanne Biasi

I just read in the Daily Record today (Jan 25 ) that Joanne passed away on Jan 23. Our sympathies to her family.

Bob Popelka

To all-

I just read the website where Big Bob Popelka died. "Beef" was a good guy. I especially enjoyed the encouragement he gave me before the Senior Play, when just before I went out on stage, I wanted to "wet my pants" with nerves. He was a great guy. We'll miss you, Big Bob and I know you're in a better place. Right on, bro!

Updating things

Howdy, pardners-

I know it's been a few years, but I think it's time to get back in touch with people I once knew. I live in Colorado now in a southwest suburb of Denver. I left Stanhope in 1973, joining the Air Force and moved around quite a bit, going to "boot camp" in Texas, then school here in Colorado. I came back to New Jersey at McGuire AFB until 1975, when I went to Germany. I spent 14 months over there, then went to Illinois where I went to school to become a weather observer. Then, it was off to Griffiss AFB, New York up near Rome and Uitca. I went to school in Illinois again and became a weather forecaster. Then, it was off to Nebraska where I spent 15 months before heading off to South Korea. There I met the love of my life, Myong Suk. We were married over there and came back in April 1983. We spent 3 years out in California where my son, James Kim was born in 1985. In September, 1986 it was off to Germany again for a three-year tour there. We came back in September 1989 and went to Hurlburt Field, Florida in the upper Panhandle of Florida. There we stayed until I retired from the Air Force at the end of May, 1993 as a Master Sergeant (E-7). In July, 1993 I was offered a job out here in Denver, so out here we came and we've been here ever since. I guess military blood runs in the family as my son is joining the Navy in March. I've talked to a few people that I once knew and am wondering-is there a 40th year reunion planned in 2009? If there is, I'd like to be there. My e-mail address is bradtherad@comcast.net, so could someone from the old class of '69 let me know? My mother is still alive, but my dad died in 1991. My sister, Lisa lives in Cary, North Carolina. I hope to one day get back to the old "hood" and look up some people that I once knew. Let me know how some of you who knew me are, what you've been doing and what direction your lives took. I'm trying especially to locate Dave Piemontesi, Class of '74. My Christmas card came back not deliverable and unable to forward, so Dave seems to have dropped off the radar. Again, howdy to all and hope to hear from some of my old "compadres."

Thanks to Ken Jr and Kristopher and One Advertising for taking over the website. I'm looking forward
to the tutorial so I know how to use the site correctly. I hope I don't do anything that will cause
them to stand in the corner. I see there hasn't be a lot posted lately. I know the site is designed to
be secure. Are there anyplans to let registered secure users see who has registered by class year?

Happy New Year to all.
